(Beef, Swine, Turkeys, Broilers, Lambs, Meat Goats)
MANDATORY: YOUTH FOR THE QUALITY CARE OF ANIMALS (YQCA) TRAINING
YQCA is becoming an important component for youth involved in food animal exhibitions, which by definition these youth are food animal producers. Youth with knowledge and experience are critical to the success of producing safe and wholesome food products for consumers. This age-appropriate (8-21 yr. old) program is being offered nationally to ensure youth producers have a foundation of knowledge to provide a higher level of food safety to consumers. By completing this on-line training, youth will be certified, and this will be required for our county fair 2020.
The cost for the training for youth with market animals is covered by the Livestock Fund. You must register on-line, and then we will send you a coupon code to use for the training. For this coupon code, training must be completed by April 30th. Along with the coupon code, we will send directions on how to get on-line for the training.
If there are other youth showing animals that wish to take the training, and we have coupons available after all the market sale youth have theirs, we will offer the coupons for $9/each. You can also register and there is a selection for this, so then we can send you the coupon code once we receive payment. We will also put out another email after the registration deadline to let you know if coupons are still available. Training must also be completed by April 30th.
Registration deadline for all market youth: April 13th
