Agriculture in Cortland County is a $62.9 million dollar business.

Agriculture

Agriculture is a central component of Cortland County. Whether you have a large farm, small garden, or are looking to get started, the CCE Cortland Ag Team is here to help with research-based resources and educational programming.

For Farmers

Cortland County's diverse agriculture portfolio creates the need for the development of diverse programming that provides relevant education and resources to producers. The CCE Cortland Ag Team focuses on the management, production, and marketing opportunities for non-dairy livestock and horticulture producers, as well as natural resource managers. Our programming addresses the general needs of local farmers, resulting in profitability for farmers and a strong agriculture community.

For Consumers

Strong farmer-consumer connections result in a strong local foods system in which consumers identify and appreciate the value of local products. When foods are produced and consumed locally, you are helping to strengthen or local economy and our carbon footprint is reduced. CCE Cortland connects you and your family with the farmers who grow your food through special events, farm tours, publications, and classroom outreach.
