"Come test your knowledge in livestock at the first ever
4-H South Central District Livestock Skill-a-thon!
The 4-H Regional Livestock Skill-a-thon will be
held at Broome County on April 5th from 6pm-9pm.
Event Overview: The 4-H South Central District
Livestock Skill-a-thon is a dynamic competition designed for 4-H youth who are
passionate about livestock and agriculture. There are 3 parts to the
competition: an individual written test, stations and a team question. Teams of
4 will compete but it is not necessary to have a team to participate, youth can
sign up individually and be placed on a team the night of.
The stations will be on topics that include
equipment identification, livestock feeds, retail meat cuts, livestock breeds,
wool evaluation and hay identification. The written and team questions will be
focused general livestock/agriculture knowledge.
Please pre-register by contacting your local 4-H
office. Registration beforehand is not required and can be done before the
competition takes place starting at 5:30pm. The event will begin promptly at
6:00pm
Join us for a night of fun where youth can
enhance their knowledge, develop practical skills, and connect with like-minded
individuals in the 4-H community. There will be food and beverages provided for
youth and a chance to connect with fellow 4-H youth throughout the district! We
hope to see you there!
