4-H Cloverbuds

4-H Cloverbuds are youth ages 5 and in kindergarten to age 8, and are the youngest participants in the 4-H Club Program. The primary goal of the 4-H Cloverbud Program is to promote healthy development-- physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally through a period of rapid and often uneven development. The 4-H Cloverbud Program has been designed to meet the very special needs of these 5 to 8 year olds.

The 4-H Cloverbud Program is:

  • developmentally age appropriate
  • fun --encourages creativity and play
  • leader directed--positive adult/youth relationships
  • activity based
  • non-competitive
  • success oriented
  • group centered

Goals of the 4-H Clover Program are for youth to develop:

  • self-esteem
  • decision making skills
  • social interaction skills (getting along with others)
  • learning skills
  • mastering physical skills
