Youth Showing animals at the at the fair: Definitions:
1.You must be enrolled into the Cortland County 4-H program to be able to show animals at the 2023 Cortland County Jr. Youth fair during the week of July 4-8th, 2023. Fairbook is on the website for reference under the general rules and timelines for animal vaccinations.
2. Ownership: animal is registered into the youth's name.
3. Non-owned or leased: the animal is leased to the youth but not owned-(non owned forms must be completed and sent to the 4-H office by June 1, 2023).
4. Animals must be enrolled into the on-line fair registration - (links will be provided by the 4-H office) by deadline of June 1, 2023. All animals must be the age of 4 mos. or older due to rabies vaccination.
5. A Cloverbud - Youth (ages 5 up to 8) as of January 1st, 2023 (may only show: Dairy cattle-spring calf; sheep, Dairy Goat; Meat Goat; Poultry; Rabbit or Cavy). Horses Cloverbud may do lead line or Walktrot classes only.
6. A 4-H Youth who are (8) eight years old and have not passed their (19) nineteenth birthday as of January 1, 2023 may able to show breed, market animals for auction. Market class no non-owned animals will be allowed.
7. 4-H Shows: Valid Health Certificates will be required and NYS Vet check upon arrival and Animal move into barns is Monday, July 3rd 6PM and release time is Sunday, July 9th at 6-8AM.
