4-H Horse Rally - May 25-26 & 27th - District Regional Event - We invite you to come!


South Central 4-H Horse Rally May 25-26 & 27th

The NY Agriculture Horse Breeders Development Fund and Cornell Cooperative Extensions of Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Schuyler, Tioga, Tompkins and Otsego.

The South Central District 4-H Horse Rally will be held at the Whitney Point Fair Grounds.  The rally is designed for youth with and without horses, to build the 4-H Horse Community, gain new knowledge, set goals for the year ahead, work on mastering horsemanship skills and have fun with likeminded friends.

Friday Night:  Starting with A Community Dinner; and a speaker from SUNY Morrisville on the  Standardbred breed  w/demo of harnessing and racing; finishing with a fun night with Horse bowl; Hippology and Horse Judging.

Saturday Events:  Groundwork for any discipline; English; Western; Driving; Gymkhana; Showmanship; Trail and educational tracks for Equine Dentistry; Equine Massage Therapist; Braiding/Mane Pulling; First Aid; parts of the Horse; Mop Ponies and talking with a nutritionist.

Sunday Educational Show: 8:00 A.M - for all 4-H riding & driving divisions. 

Rules and Guidelines:  Current 4-H Horse Show & 4-H Horse Educational Rule books.

There will be a small fee of $5.00 per youth participating.  

(donations also accepted from Adults, Chaperones and 4-H families).

Registration Deadline is: May 23rd 


  • Space is limited in many workshops so assignments will be created in the order you register.
  • All horses a the event, must be registered 4-H Horse Projects with the youth's home county.
  • Valid Coggins and Rabies upon arrival at the event must be shown.
  • Bedding & complete clean-out is the responsibility of the horse owner & rider.
  • Camping is available at $10 per site
  • 4-H Code of Conduct must be on file with the home county.
  • Helmets & Boots with 1/2" heel must be worn at all times when working with a Horse.
